Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle on a suitable support. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the tire/wheel assembly from the vehicle. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Remove the tire from the wheel. Refer to
Tire Dismounting and Mounting.
Important: If any of the following tire pressure sensor components are found to be damage, replace the damaged components
- Remove the tire pressure sensor indicator cap (1) and deflate the tire.
- Remove tire pressure sensor indicator nut (4).
Important: When removing the tire pressure sensor, DO NOT re-use the seal, replace with new.
- Remove the tire pressure sensor seal (3), the washer (2) and the tire pressure sensor (1).
Installation Procedure
- Clean the area around the mounting point for the tire pressure sensor.
- Install the washer (2) and the seal (3) on the tire pressure sensor (1).
- Install the tire pressure sensor (1) on the wheel.
- Start the nut (4) by hand.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Important: When installing the tire pressure sensor and the nut, position the tire pressure sensor so that it is parallel to the inside wheel surface while torquing.
- Install the nut (2) on the tire pressure sensor (1).
Tighten
Tighten the nut (2) to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
- Install the tire on the wheel. Refer to
Tire Dismounting and Mounting.
- Install the tire/wheel assembly on the vehicle. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Learn the tire pressure sensors. Refer to
Tire Pressure Sensor Learn.
