1. Rear Compartment Lamp Malfunction |
The rear compartment lamp is supplied voltage from the BCM via the inadvertent power courtesy lamp control circuit. When the rear compartment lid is open, the rear compartment courtesy lamp switch is closed, providing a ground path for the rear compartment courtesy lamp and illuminating the lamp.

⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the rear compartment courtesy lamp is illuminated, test the control circuit terminal 1 for a short to ground. |
⇒ | If the rear compartment courtesy lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the test the rear compartment courtesy. |
