A RECURRENCE OF A HEAD GASKET LEAK ON A DIESEL ENGINE WHICH HAD THE NEW HEADGASKETS INSTALLED, (PART NUMBER 22513605) COULD BE CAUSED BY ONEOF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
HEAD BOLTS WERE NOT CLEANED AND OILED BEFORE REINSTALLATION IN BLOCK.
PRECHAMBERS PROTRUDING ABOVE SURFACE OF CYLINDERHEAD.
BURRS ON CYLINDER HEAD.
DIRT OR RUST IN CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS HOLES.
HEAD GASKETS WERE SPRAYED WITH COPPER COAT SEALER.
THE PROCEDURES IN BULLETIN 81-I-130 FILE GROUP 60 #30 SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WHEN REPLACEMENT OF A DIESEL ENGINE HEAD GAKSET IS NECESSARY.
