VINYL TOP TRIM RETAINER SERVICE PROCEDURE

The vinyl top at sunroof opening trim retainer on the subject styles can be removed and replaced by following procedure outlined below.

Removal:

1. Remove sunroof housing (procedure in Section 8 of Service Manual).

2. Using 1/8" drill with stop (as shown in illustration), remove 24 retainer rivets.

3. Remove retainer.

Installation:

1. Apply a piece of saturated urethane 112" wide x 1/4" thick tape (Sure Seal RFT 1/4" or equivalent) around the inner edge of the retainer, as shown in Section A-A of illustration.

2. Install retainer with twenty-four (24) large headed steel 1/8" diameter x 1/4" long rivet (USM Blind Rivet 5D42BSLF or equivalent).

3. Install sunroof housing.
