PLASTIC EMBLEM REPLACEMENT ADHESIVE RECOMMENDATIONS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: All Carlines

When replacing the plastic inserts, such as the emblem in the front end panel or the grill assembly, care must be taken to use the correct type of adhesive. Do not use instant glues (cyanoacrylate) or adhesives that are not recommended for use on plastics as these will damage the plastic emblem. Use a clear silastic or silicone rubber (R.T.V.) type of adhesive, 3M plastic and emblem adhesive No. 08061, or equivalent. If both surfaces to be glued have been thoroughly cleaned, then this type of adhesive will make a good, flexible and permanent bond.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
