The information contained in this bulletin should help you determine what type of wheel lock system is being used on a particular vehicle and how you can obtain the correct replacement wrench for it.
LOCKING WIRE WHEEL DISCS
This design can be identified by the 'T' shaped lock key wrench or by the scallop pattern on the lock bolt. (Fig. 1) There are 5 code letters and 5 corresponding colours to distiniguish the different patterns. The pattern can be identified by the colour of the lock bolt or the code letter on the head of the lock bolt. The following are the code letters and colours used.
A - Red B - Creen C - Brown H - Gold L - Black
This design can be identified by the black 'L' shaped lock key wrench or by the curved groove pattern on the lock bolt. (Fig. 2) There are colour codes that can be found on both the lock bolt and the lock key wrench. The 6 colour codes are: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Gold and Orange.
Identification of this type can be made by the 'T' shaped lock key wrench or by the spline pattern on the lock nut. (Fig. 3) There are colour codes that can be found on both the lock nut and the lock key wrench. The 6 colour codes are: Red, Gold, Blue, Olive, Black and Silver.

Dealers should place all Norris & Thompson lock wrench orders on Dealership stationary or a purchase order identifying the Dealership. The Dealer must specify the type of locking system, colour required and V.I.N.
Billing of all orders placed with the above Canadian Distributors will be handled as follows:
Order for single wrenches up to $100 - Cash on Delivery Orders for master sets or over $100 - On Credit
Individuals must purchase lock wrenches through a Dealership. All individual wrenches ordered for customers should be on a replacement basis only. Dealers shuuld record V.I.N., customer name and address for security purposes.
Master wrench sets are available for Dealer use only and not for resale. The master wrench set is a useful addition to service tools due to the widespread use of the locking wire wheel discs.
The current price for an individual wrench is $18.95 (please specify V.I.N. and colour required). The master wrench set for both Norris Industries and Thompson Industries is $95.00. Please use the letter code when ordering Norris Industries - Type 1 wrenches.
All parts for the locking wire wheel disc other than the wrench can be obtained through the Parts Department.
McGard Wire Wheel Disc Locks
The McGard system can be identified by the black 'T' shaped wrench or by the design and location of the locking bolt (Fig. 4). There are ten different colours of locking bolts, which must match the colour stripe on the wrench. These colours are light green, dark green, orange, gray, light blue, dark blue, yellow, white, purple, and red.
The McCard lock key wrench must be obtained direct from McGard. All lock key wrench orders must be placed using the McGard order form or on Dealership stationary. All inquiries should be directed to:

The master wrench set can be obtained from McGard with a covering letter of approval from your Zone Office.

LOCKING WHEEL NUTS FOR ALUMINUM WHEELS AND AUTHENTIC WIRE WHEELS ---------------------------------------------
McGard locking wheel nuts are used with either aluminum or authentic wire wheels. You can obtain a replacement key wrench and master set using the same procedure as for McGard wire wheel disc locks. Refer to page 4 paragraph 2 for ordering instructions. Refer to Fig. 5 for identification of this design. The same ten coloure are used as with the McGard locking wheel discs.
