EXTERNAL LAMP MONITORS CHANGES IN REAR MONITORS

Vehicles Affected: 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 royale Coupes and Sedans

Styling changes have been made on the rear tail lamps on 1984 Delta 99 Royale Coupes and Sedans. The Internior Rear Lamp Montior Indicator, located above the rear window, monitors the tail and stop lamps with the fibre optics system. The Rear Lamp Monitor does NOT indicate turn signal operation or the status of the turn signal lamp. Turn signal bulb failure is shown by a non-flashing arrow located in the instrument panel area on vehicles without the Trailer Harness Option. The dash indicator will flash even if the rear lamp is out of operation on vehicles equipped with the Trailer Wiring Harness Option (U89) when the heavy duty flasher is installed.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
