CORE INFORMATION TAG REMANUFACTURED GENERATOR

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 SKYHAWK, SKYLARK, SOMERSET, AND CENTURY EXCEPT 3.8L WITH 120 AMP GENERATOR

A remanufactured unit is used to replace the CS-121 and CS-130 generators. Both a remanufactured unit and service parts are available for CS-144 generators. See bulletin 87-6D-1 for CS-144 service parts.

A core information tag comes with the remanufactured assembly. This tag is to be completed and returned with the defective generator. It is very important that this tag be filled out completely with complete information. Delco Remy will be able to quickly identify and correct any problem areas on these generators.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
