FIRM OR HARD FRT. SEAT PROCEDURE TO SOFTEN SEAT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 AND EARLY 1987, (INTO JANUARY PRODUCTION), 'H' MODELS

If a comment on firm or hard front seat cushion is received, the following procedure can be used to soften either driver or passenger side:

See Illustrations.

Determine if correction has already been done, reach under seat to check if center element (spring) is present. if so, continue to next step.

Remove front seat.

Detrim seat bottom, front and sides. It is not necessary to remove adjusters.

Remove two (2) hog rings from rear of seat trim, to gain access to rear of element.

Remove front and rear clips from center element.

Open attaching tabs on seat frame, at ends of element.

Remove element only from side which condition exists.

Retrim seat.

Reinstall seat.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

Use the most applicable labour operation numbers from the Canadian Labour Time Guide.

Labor Time, Split Seat: .7 for each side Bench Seat: .7 for one (1) side .8 for both
