REAR BRAKE NOISE (REPL. BROKEN PARK BRK. SPRING W/NEW KIT)

SUBJECT: REAR BRAKE NOISE (REPLACE BROKEN PARK BRAKE SPRING WITH NEW SERVICE KIT)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1992 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA AND LESABRE VEHICLES

This bulletin is being revised to change the Labor Operation Number.

1992 Park Avenue/Ultra and LeSabre vehicles within the following VIN Ranges:

PLANT VEHICLE FROM TO BUICK CITY LESABRE NH424927 NH467512 WENTZVILLE PARK AVENUE/ULTRA N1611664 N1628656

CONDITION:

Noise in rear brake, increased pedal travel over time, or one wheel slides.

CAUSE:

Rear parking brake adjuster spring breaks at either attaching point.

CORRECTION:

Install new service spring kit, part number 18020401. This kit includes springs, actuators, and instructions for both rear brakes. Replace both sides at the same time, even if only one is broken.

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
