VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992 BUICK "H" MODELS -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------- Owners of some 1992 Buick "H" models (prior to VIN NH401702) may experience a condition where water collects on the lamp when the deck lid is closed and then runs off the ends of the deck lid and into the trunk as the deck lid is raised. To minimize this condition lamp end seals have been released. These seals attach to the outboard ends of the back up lamp assembly and dam the water in the deck lid until the lid is closed. With the deck lid returned to closed position, the water runs out from under the lamp and down the back of the vehicle.
----------- To correct this condition, the following steps must be performed:
1. Obtain lamp assembly seals, part number #25607357 (right) and #25607358 (left).
2. Remove the lamp assembly from the deck lid.
3. Remove the backing material from the adhesive on the seals. Attach the seals to the ends of the lamp assembly. The seal must extend beyond the outboard wall of the lamp assembly to create a seal to the deck lid. (See illustration)
4. Install the lamp assembly to the deck lid.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
