The Buick uses a CB-series power steering pump. The Oldsmobile uses a TC-series. These pumps are vane-type positive displacement pumps with an integral fluid reservoir. A pressure relief valve limits maximum system pressure. The relief valve is located inside the flow control valve in the pump housing. The relief valve is not serviced separately. The engine drive belt drives the power steering pump.
