Did you perform the Exterior Lights System Check?

  1. Backprobe the turn signal flasher connector with a test lamp from cavity A (PNK) to ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the turn signal flasher connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from the turn signal flasher connector cavity A (PNK) to cavity B (PPL).
  3. Place the multi-function lever in the position to indicate a left hand turn.

Do all of the left turn lamps light but not flash?

Replace the turn signal flasher. Refer to one of the following procedures:

Inspect for an open in CKT 16 (PPL) between the turn signal flasher and the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 16 OK?

Go to Step 6

Replace the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 539 (PNK) between the IP fuse block and the turn signal flasher. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 16 (PPL) between the turn signal flasher and the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
