  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the key from ignition.
  2. Set the headlamp switch to OFF.
  3. Disconnect the lamp control module (LCM) connector (Buick) or the headlamp switch (Oldsmobile and Pontiac).

Did the warning chime turn off?

Replace the lamp control module (LCM) (Buick) or the headlamp switch (Oldsmobile and Pontiac).

For Buick, perform the following steps:

  1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  2. Leave the LCM connector disconnected.
  3. Using the SBM Data List Inputs Function on the scan tool, check the LCM Headlamp Switch Status Input.

Is the input on, or is this an Oldsmobile or Pontiac?
