Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 386967  Size: SH
  1. Open the console bin door.
  2. Lift the cupholder perpendicular with the console.
  3. Push down on the cupholder while applying pressure to the retainers with a flat-bladed tool.
  4. Remove cupholder from console.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 386966  Size: SH
  1. Insert the cupholder into the opening between the rod and the console material.
  2. Line up the rod and the slots in the cupholder end.
  3. Pull up in order to engage the slots.
  4. An audible click should be heard when the slots are fully engaged.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the storage bin. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement .
  2. Remove the shifter trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 482094  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fasteners (1) retaining the cup holder.
  5. Remove the cup holder from the console.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cup holder to the console.

  2. Object Number: 482094  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners (1) to the cup holder.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  5. Install the shifter trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  6. Install the storage bin. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement .
