- Loosen the fasteners (2) from the striker (3).
- Tighten the 2 bolts (2) of the striker (3) finger tight. Ensure that the striker (3) moves with light force.
- Hold the outside handle out and gently push the door against the body in order to ensure a flush fit.
- Unlatch and slowly open the door.
- Inspect the door for the following conditions:
- Repeat steps 1-6 if required.
- Touch up any exposed or unpainted surface on the lock pillar.
Notice: Striker alignment is a crucial part of door latch operation. Do not use the door striker to adjust the door to the vehicle. Failure to properly adjust the striker can result in damage to the door latch and the striker.
Important: Add or remove the spacers (1) as necessary in order to ensure that the fastener (2) of the door latch fork is centered on the striker (3) post.

Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the bolts of the striker to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
