Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement Buick/Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the screws that retain the floor support covers.
  2. Remove the floor support covers.

  3. Object Number: 387265  Size: SH
  4. Remove the load bar cover.
  5. Move the seat to the full rearward position.
  6. Remove the front nuts that attach the adjuster to the floor pan.
  7. Move the seat to the full forward position.

  8. Object Number: 314048  Size: MH

    Caution: On seats with a manual adjuster, failure to place the seat in the full forward position prior to removal of the rear attaching nuts could allow the seat track to suddenly spring forward, resulting in personal injury.

  9. Remove the rear nuts that attach the adjuster (3) to the floor pan. (The insert shows the manual adjuster.)
  10. Remove the load bar bolt (4).
  11. Tilt the seat rearward.
  12. Disconnect the following components:
  13. • The electrical connectors (2)
    • The air hose
    • The HVAC duct (5) at the armrest, where applicable.
  14. Remove the seat.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat.
  2. Connect or install the following components:
  3. • The electrical connectors (2)
    • The air hose
    • The HVAC duct (5) at the armrest, where applicable.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the load bar bolt (4).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the load bar bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  6. Install the rear nuts in order to attach the adjuster (3) to the floor pan. (The insert shows the manual adjuster.)
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the rear nuts to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  8. Install the front nuts in order to attach the adjuster (3) to the floor pan. (The insert shows the manual adjuster.)
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the front nuts to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  10. Move the seat to the full forward position.
  11. Install the load bar cover.
  12. Install the floor support covers.
  13. Install the floor support cover fasteners.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 314052  Size: MH
  1. Remove the fasteners that retain the floor support covers.
  2. Remove the floor support covers.
  3. Remove the load bar cover.
  4. Move the seat to the full rearward position.
  5. Remove the front nuts (1) that attach the adjuster to the floor pan.
  6. Move the seat to the full forward position.
  7. Caution: On seats with a manual adjuster, failure to place the seat in the full forward position prior to removal of the rear attaching nuts could allow the seat track to suddenly spring forward, resulting in personal injury.

  8. Remove the rear nuts (2) that attach the adjuster to the floor pan.
  9. Remove the load bar bolt (3).
  10. Tilt the seat rearward.
  11. Disconnect the following components:
  12. • The electrical connectors
    • The air hose
    • The HVAC duct at the armrest, where applicable.
  13. Remove the seat.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat.
  2. Connect or install the following components:

    Tighten the front nuts (1) to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  10. Move the seat to the full rearward position.
  11. Install the load bar cover.
  12. Install the floor support covers.
  13. Install the floor support cover fasteners.
