Power Seat Does Not Recline Oldsmobile w/AG1 LH

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Backprobe the LH seat switch connector with a DMM from cavity S (LT GRN) to ground.
  3. Move the recline switch back.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 4

Replace the LH seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Backprobe the seat switch connector with a DMM from cavity R (LT BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the recline switch forward.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Backprobe the LH seat recline motor from cavity B (LT GRN) to ground.
  2. Move the recline switch back.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Backprobe the LH seat recline motor from cavity A (LT BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the recline switch forward.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 276 (LT GRN) between the LH seat switch and the LH seat recline motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 277 (LT BLU) between the LH seat switch and the LH seat recline motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 76 (DK GRN) between the RH seat switch and the RH seat recline motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  2. Connect a DMM from the LH seat switch connector cavity F (ORN) to ground.

  1. Disconnect the seat control module connector C2.
  2. Briefly connect a fused jumper from the seat control module connector C2 cavity G (GRY/BLK) to ground.

Did the seat back recline forward with the fused jumper connected?

Briefly connect a fused jumper from the seat control module connector C2 cavity H (DK GRN/WHT) to ground.

Did the rear of the seat back recline back with the fused jumper connected?

  1. Reconnect the seat control module connector C2.
  2. Disconnect the seat control module LH connector C3 or RH connector C4.
  3. Connect a DMM from the seat control module LH connector C3 or the RH connector C4 LH cavity E (LT BLU) or RH cavity E (DK BLU) to ground.
  4. Move the recline switch forward.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Inspect for an open in the LH CKT 277 (LT BLU) or the RH CKT 77 (DK BLU) between the seat control module and the recline motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 277 or CKT 77 OK?

Inspect for an open in the LH CKT 1246 (DK GRN) or the RH CKT 1247 (DK GRN) between the seat horizontal motor and S363. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 1246 or CKT 1247 OK?

Inspect for an open in CKT 1269 (GRY/BLK) between the seat control module and the console seat switch. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for an open in CKT 1270 (DK GRN/WHT) between the seat control module and the console seat switch. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.
