Did you perform the Power Seat Memory System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic connector to the ground.
  3. • The connector may be taped up into the body harness.
    • The memory seat/mirror module will beep once in order to acknowledge entrance into the mode 1 diagnostics.
    • Refer to Power Seats Circuit Description for a detailed operation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  4. Remove the ground from the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic connector, then ground the connector again within 5 seconds.
  5. • The module will beep twice in order to acknowledge entry into the mode 2 diagnostics.
    • Refer to Power Seats Circuit Description for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  6. Operate the seat switch in the rear forward/back positions (the module will beep once for an open or short circuit to a position sensor or any position sensor discontinuity.)
  7. Any time a switch is operated and the module senses a problem with the position sensor, the module beeps.

Test for an open or short in CKT 568 (TAN). Refer to Testing for Continuity or Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 568 (TAN) OK?

Test for an open or short in CKT 788 (GRY) between the seat rear vertical position sensor and S341. Refer to Testing for Continuity or Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 788 (GRY) OK?

Test for an open or short in CKT 782 (BLK) between the seat rear vertical position sensor and S340. Refer to Testing for Continuity or Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 782 (BLK) OK?

Replace the seat rear vertical position sensor.

Is the repair complete?

  1. The system is functioning properly.
