Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

1. Turn ON the ignition switch.
2. Connect the scan tool.
3. Select PCM Output Menu.

Does the scan tool indicate that the temperature reading is the same as indicated temperature range on the gauge?

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls-3.8L

Go to Step 3

Replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 4

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
