Replace the wheels, if the wheels exhibit any of the following
problems:
• | Excessive lateral runout |
• | Excessive radial runout |
• | Wheel nuts that won't stay tight |
Ensure that replacement wheels are equivalent to the stock wheels in
the following specifications:
A wheel of improper size or type may affect the following:
• | Speedometer/odometer calibration |
• | Vehicle ground clearance |
• | Tire clearance to the body and chassis |
Steel wheels have a two or three letter code stamped into the rim near
the valve stem. Most aluminum wheels have a code, part number, and manufacturer
ID cast into the back side. Alternatively, the ID is located on the front
side in the bolt circle area. Wheel color may also be required for identification.
