Testing GDO with Keyless Entry Tester

Did you review the Garage Door Opener Description and perform the necessary inspections?

Push each button on the garage door opener (GDO).

Do all three buttons illuminate the LED?

  1. Remove the garage door opener (GDO), leaving the harness connector connected. Refer to Garage Door Opener Replacement .
  2. Place the GDO on the J 43241 . Refer to Testing the GDO With the Keyless Entry Tester .

Does the J 43241 verify each button when pressed?

Test the GDO battery positive voltage circuit for an open, high resistance, or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test the GDO ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connection at the GDO harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
