Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn OFF the interior lamp switch.
  4. Close all the doors.
  5. With a scan tool, observe all of the Door Jamb Sw. parameters in the driver door module (DDM) input data list.

Does the scan tool display ON for any of the door jamb switches?

With a scan tool observe the interior lamp switch input parameter in the climate control panel (CCP) (w/C67) or instrument panel module (IPM) (w/CJ2) input data list.

Does the scan tool display Door?

With a scan tool, observe the Overhead Lamps Output parameter in the rear integration module (RIM) output data list.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

Test the controlled ground circuit of the courtesy lamp for an a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

Inspect for poor connections at the connector of the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement or Rear Side Door Latch Replacement in Doors.

Test the input circuit of the inoperative door jamb switch for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
