  1. Place the interior lamp switch in the ON position.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the signal feed circuit of the appropriate door switch lamp and a good ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the power feed circuit of the appropriate door switch lamp bulb and the ground circuit of the appropriate door switch lamp bulb.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the appropriate door switch lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the appropriate door switch. Refer to appropriate procedure:

    •  Front Door Switch Replacement in Doors
    •  Door Lock Switch Replacement in Doors

Test for high resistance or an open in the power feed circuit of the appropriate door switch lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test for high resistance or an open in the ground circuit of the appropriate door switch lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
