Do the hazard flashers operate properly?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the turn signal/hazard flasher module brake input circuit, at the turn signal/hazard flasher module connector, and a good ground.
  2. Depress the brake pedal.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the turn signal/hazard flasher module RH or LH rear lamp output circuit, at the turn signal/hazard flasher module, and a good ground.
  2. Depress the brake pedal.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the turn signal/hazard flasher module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace turn signal hazard/flasher module. Refer to Hazard Lamp Flasher Replacement .

Test the appropriate rear lamp output circuit for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
