Removal Procedure

  1. Run the wipers into the Park position.
  2. Disconnect the washer hose from the air inlet grille panel.

  3. Object Number: 347706  Size: SH
  4. Remove the cover from the nut holding the wiper arm.
  5. Remove the wiper arm nut.
  6. Important:  A battery terminal puller should be used if rocking the wiper arm fails to loosen it from the pivot shaft.

  7. Rock the wiper arm up and down to loosen and remove the arm from the pivot shaft.

  9. Depress the end of the wiper blade retaining clip and slide the blade off of the wiper arm hook.
  10. Bring the wiper arm hook out through the opening in the wiper blade.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wiper blade onto the wiper arm by placing the arm hook through the opening in the wiper blade. Slide the arm hook onto the blade retaining clip until it clicks into position
  2. Important: The wiper system must be in the park position when installing the wiper arms. If the wiper system is not in the park position, damage to the wiper system and the vehicle will occur.

  3. Operate the wiper system and then turn the wiper control switch to the OFF position to assure the wiper system is in the park position.

  4. Object Number: 640333  Size: SH

    Important: Clean the wiper arm pivot shaft knurls with a wire brush.

  5. Install the wiper arm onto the pivot shaft while aligning the wiper blade with the locating marks on the windshield. If the windshield does not have locating marks, locate the center of the blades to the distance shown up from base of the windshield.
  6. • Passenger Side --107.2 mm (4.22 in)
    • Driver Side -- 68.1 mm (2.68 in)

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the nut on the wiper arm.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  9. Install the cover onto the nut.
  10. Important: Lubricate the washer hose with the windshield washer solvent to ease attachment to the fitting on the air inlet grille panel.

  11. Attach the washer hose to the fitting on the air inlet grille panel.
  12. Operate the wipers and washers and check for proper operation.
