Did you perform the Wiper/Washer System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  2. Set the wiper switch to LO.

Do the wipers stop for approximately 6 seconds and then operate for approximately 24 seconds repeatedly?

  1. Set the wiper switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the wiper/washer switch connector.

Do the wipers park properly?

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 12

Measure the voltage from the wiper/washer switch connector, terminal A5, to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

Go to Step 6

  1. Reconnect the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the wiper speed signal circuit, terminal E, of the wiper motor to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10.5-15 V

Repair the short to voltage in the wiper speed signal circuit, CKT 478, of the wiper motor. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Measure the voltage from connector C202 (vehicle side) terminal D3 to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

  1. Reconnect the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the wiper speed signal circuit, terminal G, of the wiper motor to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

Replace the wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Repair the short to voltage in the wiper speed signal circuit, CKT 477, of the wiper motor. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
