Inspect the washer solvent container for proper fluid level.

Inspect for pinched, kinked or disconnected washer hoses.

Inspect for an open ACCY fuse in the Underhood Fuse Block.

  1. Disconnect the washer pump connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Connect a test lamp between terminals A and B of the washer pump connector (harness side).
  4. Activate the washer switch while observing the test lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for a poor connection at the washer pump connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the washer pump. Refer to Washer Pump Replacement .

  1. Connect the test lamp between the washer pump connector (harness side) terminal A and a good ground.
  2. Activate the washer switch while observing test lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in the washer pump ground circuit, CKT 250. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Backprobe the wiper/washer switch connector, terminal A4, to a good ground with a test lamp.
  2. Activate the washer switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in the washer pump motor circuit, CKT 228. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
