Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Trip Reset Switch input parameter in the IPC data list.
  4. Press and hold the trip reset switch for more than 3 seconds.

Does the Trip Reset Switch parameter change state?

Did the trip odometer return to zero?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the trip reset switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test the trip reset switch signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
