Driver Information Center

The optional Driver Information Center (DIC) is used in order to display alpha-numeric information to the driver and provide a method of displaying select vehicle information upon request. The DIC is a two line, 32 character, Vacuum Fluorescent display. The DIC replaces the odometer in the base cluster.

The DIC operates in 7 basic modes. These modes are a logical grouping of the following information types:

    • Odometer Display
    • Fuel Information Display
    • Gage Information Display
    • Telephone Status
    • Messages and Warnings
    • Personalization Selections
    • Driver Identifier Display

The general mode of operation is selected by the driver by pressing one of the 5 up-level buttons.

The default message for the DIC is the odometer unless changed by the driver during normal operation.

All DIC functions are shown regardless of the transmission position except for the personalization functions. They are suppressed once the transmission is shifted out of the Park position.

If a loss of class 2 communication occurs with all devices, the DIC will display odometer information only. If the IPC does not communicate with a particular device, information from that device will not be displayed or the value of the display will be dashed (---).
