CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON

The DIC displays the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message when the PCM sends a request. This message indicates that the vehicle needs an oil change.

CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM

The DIC displays CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM message when the DIM or the PCM sends a request. The message indicates of a pending charging system fault. The DIM or the PCM does not request a chime with this message.

CHECK TIRE PRESSURES

The DIC displays the CHECK TIRE PRESSURE message when the EBCM sends a request. The message indicates that a low tire pressure condition exists. Acknowledgment of this message does not reset the tire pressure.

DOOR AJAR

The DIC displays the DOOR AJAR message when the DDM sends a request. This message indicates that one or more of the four doors is open. If more than one door is open, the condition is treated as one message.

GAS CAP LOOSE CHECK CAP

The DIC displays the GAS CAP LOOSE CHECK CAP message when the PCM sends a request. The message indicates that a possible condition in the evaporative emissions system is present, or that the gas cap is not seated properly.

ENGINE COOLANT LOW CHECK LEVEL

The DIC displays the ENGINE COOLANT LOW CHECK LEVEL message when the DIM sends a request. The message indicates that the coolant level is below a pre-determined level. The sensor is a module that switches to ground or provides an open circuit for coolant level. The sensor provides a ground for a low coolant level and an open for a normal coolant level. The IPC determines whether the sensor is working when the ignition is turned to RUN. If the sensor does not function properly or the coolant level is low, the DIC displays both the CHECK COOLANT message and the SERVICE SENSOR message.

ENGINE OIL LOW CHECK LEVEL

The DIC displays the ENGINE OIL LOW CHECK LEVEL message when the PCM sends a request. This message indicates that the oil level is below a pre-determined value.

SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM

The DIC displays the SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM message when the EBCM sends a request. This message indicates a vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) fault. The EBCM also requests a chime with this message.

STABILITY SYSTEM ACTIVE

The DIC displays the STABILITY SYSTEM ACTIVE message when the EBCM sends a request. The message indicates that the vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) is active.

THEFT ATTEMPT DETECTED

The DIC display the THEFT ATTEMPT DETECTED message when the RIM sends a request. The message indicates that a potential theft of the vehicle triggered the alarm.

TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVE

The DIC displays the TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVE message when the EBCM sends a request. The message indicates that the traction control system is active.

TRUNK AJAR

The DIC displays the TRUNK AJAR message when the RIM. The message indicates that the trunk hatch is open.

TURN SIGNAL STILL ON

The TURN SIGNAL STILL ON message indicates to the driver that either the left or right turn signal has been left on for more than 1.29 km (0.8 mile). The IPC evaluates the odometer input and the turn signal input in order to determine when the DIC displays this message. The IPC also requests a chime with this message.

WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID LOW

The DIC displays the WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID LOW message when the IPC (Up-level cluster only) sends a request. The message indicates that the washer fluid level is below a specified value. The sensor is a float switch to ground that provides an open circuit for normal fluid levels, or a ground for low fluid levels. When the sensor input changes from one state to the other state for a period of 30 seconds, the IPC changes the washer fluid requests to the DIC.
