Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. Press the unlock button on the transmitter.
  4. Read current personalization setting for the transmitter automatic door lock mode. Refer to Power Door Locks Operation for a description of mode functions.
  5. Close all of the doors and shift out of park. Shift into park and turn the ignition switch off.

Do locks operate as expected for mode selected?

With the scan tool, observe the Door Jamb Sw. parameter of each door in the Driver Door Module Inputs list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Door Jamb Sw. parameter is in the OFF state for all doors?

Replace the rear integration module (RIM). Refer to Rear Integration Body Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Close all doors and shift out of park, shift into park and turn ignition switch off.

Do doors lock and unlock when shifting?

Was mode 3 the mode selected for the transmitter as read in Step 2?

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. Enter the personalization menu and set the driver lock options to the same as read in Step 2.

Test for and repair short to ground on the door jamb/open circuit of the suspect door(s).

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
