Removal Procedure

  1. Open the front door.

  2. Object Number: 449396  Size: SH
  3. Insert a small flat bladed tool between the door wire harness conduit (2) and the hinge pillar in order to depress and release the tab (3)

  4. Object Number: 441822  Size: SH
  5. Remove the door wire harness from the hinge pillar.
  6. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.

  7. Object Number: 441765  Size: SH
  8. Remove the door check link fasteners from the body.

  9. Object Number: 449396  Size: SH
  10. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
  11. Lift the door in order to remove the door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align the door hinge halves.
  2. Lower the door until hinge halves mate together.

  3. Object Number: 449396  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Use Loctite® Blue GM P/N 12345382, or an equivalent, prior to the fastener installation.

  4. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the intermediate front door hinge fasteners (1) to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement .
  7. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate front door hinge fasteners with body color paint.

  8. Object Number: 441822  Size: SH
  9. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
  10. Snap the wire harness connectors into the hinge pillar.
  11. Inspect for proper door adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
