J 44363 Sunroof Alignment Pins

Removal Procedure

Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

  1. Remove the glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness.

  4. Object Number: 428783  Size: SH
  5. Cut the tie wraps from the drain hoses.
  6. Remove the drain hoses from the sunroof module.

  7. Object Number: 469419  Size: SH
  8. Remove the sunroof module to roof bolts (1).
  9. Remove the sunroof module.
  10. Remove the sunshade.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 469419  Size: SH
  1. Position the sunroof module into the roof opening.
  2. Hand start the sunroof module bolts (1) into the roof.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Use the J 44363 in order to align the sunroof to the sunroof opening. Install and hold the alignment pins through the sunroof module holes (2) into the roof alignment holes.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the sunroof module bolts (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Remove the alignment pins.

  8. Install the drain hoses to the drain spouts on the sunroof module.
  9. Important: When installing the new drain hose tie wraps, position the tie wraps to maintain clearance between the tie wraps and the headliner.

  10. Secure the drain hoses to the sunroof module with new tie wraps.
  11. Connect the electrical harness to the sunroof module.
  12. Install the sunshade.
  13. Install the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
  14. Adjust the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment .
  15. Verify proper operation of the sunroof.
  16. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
