Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
- Remove the headrest. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
- Remove the headrest retainers. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Retainer Replacement .
- Remove the seat belt post rear cover.
- Remove the shoulder belt retractor. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement in Seat Belts.
- Remove the upper front seat belt post cover.
- Unzip the seat back trim cover (1) from the bottom to the top.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lumbar and the SIR.
- Disconnect the electrical connector for the heated seat.
- Remove the seat back trim cover (2).
- Remove the seat back pad (2).
Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
• Air bag deployment • Personal injury
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
• Unnecessary SIR system repairs • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat back pad (2).
- Install the seat back trim cover (2).
- Connect the heated seat electrical connectors.
- Connect the SIR and the lumbar electrical connectors.
- Install the seat cover J channels.
- Zip (1) the seat back trim cover back into place.
- Install the front seat belt shoulder retractor. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement in Seat Belts.
- Install the rear seat belt post cover.
- Install the headrest retainers. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Retainer Replacement .
- Install the headrest. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Seat Belts.
