Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at all times to the left heated seat module via CKT 2440 (ORN) from the rear fuse block HTDST LF Fuse. Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at all times to the right heated seat module through CKT 2540 (ORN) from the HTDST RF Fuse. Both heated seat modules are grounded via CKT 650 (BLK) to G301. Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied to each heated seat module ignition input via CKT 41 (BRN) from the IGN 3 RR Fuse with the ignition switch in the ON position. The heated seat will operate only with the ignition switch in the ON position.
Each heated seat is controlled by a separate heated seat switch. The left heated seat switch is grounded via CKT 351 (BLK WHT) to the driver door module (DDM). The right heated seat switch is grounded via CKT 451 (BLK WHT) to the right front door module (RFDM). When the heated seat switch is pressed, the door module heated seat switch input is momentarily grounded via CKT 1462 (LT BLU) (left) or CKT 1505 (LT BLU/BLK) (right) and the heated seat switch contact. In response to this input, the door module sends class 2 message to the rear integration module (RIM) indicating that the heated seat needs to be activated. In response to this message, the RIM momentarily grounds the heated seat module heated seat switch input via CKT 1501 (PNK) (left) or CKT 1503 (PNK/BLK) (right). The heated seat module then applies or removes battery positive voltage (B+) to the heated seat heating elements. The heated seat module monitors the seat surface temperature through a thermistor and maintains a pre-determined temperature.
When the heated seat is off and the heated seat switch is pressed once, the heated seat module will set the heated seat temperature to HIGH. The door module supplies battery positive voltage (B+) via CKT 1461 (DK BLU) (left) or CKT 1504 (DK BLU/WHT) to the heated seat switch high heat LED. When pressed again, the heated seat temperature is then set to LOW. The door module supplies battery positive voltage (B+) via CKT 1463 (BRN) (left) or CKT 1506 (BRN/WHT) (right) to the heated seat switch low heat LED. After the third press of the heated seat switch, the heated seat module removes battery positive voltage (B+) to the heated seat heating elements. The heated seat module will also turn off the heated seat whenever the ignition switch has been turned the OFF position.
The ON/OFF status of the heated seats is reported to the rear integration module (RIM) via CKT 2181 (DK BLU). All heated seats are turned off during Load Shed 2 and the heated seat module or driver door module will deactivate the appropriate LED.
