Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 97350  Size: SH
  5. Remove the wiring harness as necessary.

  6. Object Number: 97348  Size: SH
  7. Remove the oil pump to valve body bolts.
  8. Inspect the oil pump for foreign debris, clean or replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97352  Size: SH
  1. Install the oil pump to the valve body.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 97348  Size: SH

    Notice: Use a torque wrench to tighten the pump to valve body bolts. Do not exceed the torque specifications.

  3. Install the oil pump to valve body bolts.
  4. Tighten
    8 N·m(70  in lbs)

  5. Install the wiring harness, if removed.
  6. Install the case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the J 28467-360 .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Check the fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check
  11. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  12. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function .
