Subject: | Gray Material Exposed at SIAB (Side Impact Air Bag) Flange on Driver and/or Passenger Front Seat Back (Install Double-Sided Tape) |
Models: | 2000 Buick LeSabre |
Some customers may comment that a gray material can be seen from under the SIAB (Side Impact Air Bag) flange on the driver's and/or passenger's front seat back.
This condition may be due to the gray material that is sewn to the inside of the seat back trim cover not having sufficient support to remain positioned within the black SIAB "tub".
Install a 178 mm (7 in) long, 19 mm (¾ in) wide, 1.6 mm (1/16 in) thick strip of 3M™ Double-Sided Tape, P/N 021200-06454, or equivalent, on the inside of the black air bag "tub".
Refer to the SIR sub-section in the Service Manual.
Remove the paper from the tape.
Ensure the gray material (4) is properly positioned within the black "tub" and is secured to the tape (5).
Refer to the SIR sub-section in the Service Manual.
