This bulletin is being issued to revise the Power Sunroof Motor Replacement procedure in the Roof sub-section of the appropriate Service Manual.

Revise the text of the Power Motor Replacement procedure to read as follows:

Power Sunroof Motor Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Lower the formed headliner at the rear in order to access the sunroof motor.
  2. Refer to Headliner Replacement in the Interior Trim sub-section.

  3. If possible, close the sunroof glass panel before removal of the sunroof motor. This may also be performed using the manual sunroof operation procedure.
  4. Refer to Sunroof Manual Operation.

  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the sunroof motor (1).
  6. Remove the fasteners (5) securing the sunroof motor (1) to the sunroof module (2).

Installation Procedure

Important: A new replacement sunroof motor is set to the fully closed and flush position at the factory.

  1. Connect the electrical connectors (3) to the sunroof motor (1). Do not install the sunroof motor at this time.
  2. If installing a new replacement sunroof motor, proceed to Step 3.
  3. Hold the sunroof switch in the closed position until the sunroof motor stops. The sunroof electronics will automatically stop the sunroof motor at the fully closed and flush position.

  4. Manually close the sunroof glass panel if unable to close before sunroof motor removal.
  5. 3.1. Slide the sunroof glass panel forward.
    3.2. Seat the rear of the glass panel by pushing upward at the rear of the glass panel.
  6. Install the sunroof motor (1) to the sunroof module (2).
  7. Notice: Refer to the Fastener Notice in the Cautions and Notices sub-section of the Service Manual.

  8. Install the fasteners in order to secure the sunroof motor to the sunroof module.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

  10. Check the glass fit to the roof opening.
  11. Refer to Sunroof Glass Height and Opening Fit Adjustment.

  12. Install the headliner.
  13. Refer to Headliner Replacement in the Interior Trim sub-section.
