Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 507391  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the pinch clamp on the secondary air injection reaction (AIR) outlet pipe (2) hose .
  2. Disconnect the AIR outlet hose (1) from the AIR pump (3).

  3. Object Number: 507552  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the AIR pump electrical connector (1).

  5. Object Number: 507391  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 3 nuts (5) securing the AIR pump bracket to the transmission mount.
  7. Remove the AIR pump and the bracket as an assembly (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 507391  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Secure the secondary air injection reaction (AIR) pump and the bracket (4) to the transmission mount with the 3 nuts (5).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Connect the AIR pump electrical connector (1).

  4. Object Number: 507391  Size: SH
  5. Lightly lubricate the inner edge of the AIR pump outlet hose (1).
  6. Attach the AIR outlet hose (1) to the AIR pump outlet port (3).
  7. Place the pinch clamp (2) around the AIR pump outlet port and outlet hose connection.
