Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement Without interior lid release handle

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 470697  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lid latch assembly.
  2. Remove the latch cable from the lock cylinder.
  3. Remove the fasteners securing the lid latch assembly.
  4. Remove the lid latch assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 470697  Size: SH
  1. Install the lid latch assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners in order to secure the lid latch assembly.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the latch cable to the lock cylinder.
  6. Connect the electrical connectors to the lid latch assembly.

Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement With interior lid release handle

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 724169  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear compartment lid latch assembly.
  2. Remove the latch cable (2) from the lock cylinder.
  3. Remove the fastener (3) securing the rear compartment lid interior release handle to the rear compartment lid.
  4. Remove the fasteners securing the rear compartment lid latch assembly (1) to the rear compartment lid.
  5. Remove the lid latch assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lid latch assembly (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the fasteners in order to secure the lid latch assembly (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the latch cable (2) to the lock cylinder.
  6. Install the fastener (3) in order to secure the rear compartment lid interior release handle to the rear compartment lid.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener (2) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Connect the electrical connectors to the lid latch assembly.
