Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System?

  1. Insert a CD magazine with at least 1 audio CD into the CD changer.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn ON the radio.
  4. Play the CD in the CD changer.

Does the CD play on both the right and left channels?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the CD changer. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

  1. Remove the radio.
  2. Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the radio. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate (left or right) remote radio audio signal circuit for an open, short or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the CD changer. Refer to Remote Compact Disc Player Replacement .
