Did you perform A Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System?

Go to Step 2

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn on the radio.
  4. With a scan tool, perform a speaker test on each speaker.

Does each speaker operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the inoperative speaker.
  2. Measure the A/C voltage between the speaker connector terminals of the inoperative speaker.

When music is playing is any voltage measured?

Go to Step 6

Test the speaker output circuits of the inoperative speaker for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the radio. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the speaker. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Important:: Perform the radio setup procedure.

Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 9

Replace the speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Speaker Replacement , Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement , Front Upper Speaker Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
