Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 493260 Size: SH
  4. Remove the fastener (2) from the inside door handle.

    5. Object Number: 442167 Size: SH
  5. Install the lock and latch release rods to the guide clip.

    6. Object Number: 441816 Size: SH
  6. Slide the inside door handle forward in order to release the tabs (4) from the door.
  7. Tilt the handle and remove the rods from the handle in the following sequence:
    8. 7.1. Lock knob rod (1)
    7.2. Handle lever rod (2)

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 441816 Size: SH
  1. Install the rods to the inside door handle in the following sequence:
    2. 1.1. Handle lever rod (2)
    1.2. Lock knob rod (1)
  2. Guide the tabs (4) on the inside door handle into the slots in the door.
  3. Slide the inside door handle rearward in order to engage the tabs.

  4. Install the latch and lock rods into the guide clip.

    5. Object Number: 493260 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the inside door handle fastener (2).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  7. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement
  8. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
