Changes for the 4T65E Transaxle for the 2003 Model Year
New Pressure Control Solenoid
Important: The physical dimensions will allow usage of the new solenoid in past
model transaxles or the old solenoid in the 2003 model transaxles. They should
not be interchanged. Interchanging of the pressure control solenoids will
result in improper shift characteristics, customer dissatisfaction and additional
repairs.
The new pressure control solenoid is shown on the right (2) in the illustration
above.
New Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch (TFP)
The TFP shown on the right (3) in the illustration above is new for
the 2003 model year. It has a new electrical connector and subsequently the
transaxle's internal wiring harness has changed also. The TFP for the 2003
model year only has a TCC release switch. The TFP can not be interchanged
and should be serviced with only the correct parts for the year of the transaxle.
New Manual Shaft and Lever Assembly
The manual shaft and lever assembly has been changed for the 2003 model
year. This component may be used in past model vehicles.
