Steering Linkage Puller
Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the
vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the adjustment link retaining nut (2).
- Remove the inner adjustment
link bolt.
- Using J 24319-B
separate the adjustment link from
the lower control arm.
- Remove the adjustment link from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the adjustment
link to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the adjustment link inner nut and bolt to the support
assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the adjustment link inner nut to 91 N·m (67 lb ft).
- Install the outer adjustment link to the lower control arm retaining
nut.
Tighten
Tighten the outer adjustment link retaining nut to 50 N·m
(36 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Adjust rear toe. Refer to
Rear Toe Adjustment
in Wheel Alignment.
