Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 506449  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the tail/backup lamp harness connector from the from the body wiring harness.
  2. Remove the fasteners securing the tail/backup lamp assembly to the rear compartment lid.
  3. While supporting the tail/backup lamp assembly, unplug the tail/backup lamp harness grommet from the rear compartment lid.
  4. Remove the tail/backup lamp from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the backup lamp bulb from the lamp housing.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the backup lamp bulb into the lamp housing.
  2. While supporting the tail/backup lamp assembly, connect the electrical connector.
  3. While supporting the tail/backup lamp assembly, install the tail/backup lamp harness grommet to the rear compartment lid.
  4. Install the tail/backup lamp to the vehicle.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the tail/backup lamp fasteners to the tail/backup lamp studs.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the tail/backup lamp fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  8. Connect the tail/backup lamp electrical connector.
  9. Clip the electrical connector to the metal edge of the rear compartment lid.
