Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the tail/backup
lamp harness connector from the from the body wiring harness.
- Remove the fasteners securing the tail/backup lamp assembly to
the rear compartment lid.
- While supporting the tail/backup lamp assembly, unplug the tail/backup
lamp harness grommet from the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the tail/backup lamp from the vehicle.
- Remove the backup lamp bulb from the lamp housing.
Installation Procedure
- Install the backup lamp
bulb into the lamp housing.
- While supporting the tail/backup lamp assembly, connect the electrical
connector.
- While supporting the tail/backup lamp assembly, install the tail/backup
lamp harness grommet to the rear compartment lid.
- Install the tail/backup lamp to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the tail/backup
lamp fasteners to the tail/backup lamp studs.
Tighten
Tighten the tail/backup lamp fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Connect the tail/backup lamp electrical connector.
- Clip the electrical connector to the metal edge of the rear compartment
lid.
