Headlining Trim Panel Replacement With Sunroof
Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material
glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace
the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
Removal Procedure
- Remove the passenger front bucket seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket

- Pull the door opening moldings down in order to clear headliner and the rear quarter trim. Refer to
Rear Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement
.
- Remove the windshield pillar trim panel. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the center pillar trim. Refer to
Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to
Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the sunshades. Refer to
Sunshade Replacement
.
- Remove the overhead console. Refer to
Roof Console Replacement
.
- Disconnect the rearview mirror electrical connectors.
- Remove the assist handles. Refer to
Assist Handle Replacement
.
- Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connector.
- Remove the wire harness from the rear upper quarter.
Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will
damage the headliner.
- Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner.
- Remove the headliner through the rear passenger door opening.
Installation Procedure
- Load the headliner into the vehicle through the rear passenger door opening.
- With the aid of an assistant, raise the headliner into position.
- Install the assist handles. Refer to

- Install the sunshades. Refer to
Sunshade Replacement
.
- Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to
Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Connect the headliner wiring harness connector.
- Route and secure the wiring harness to the rear upper quarter.
- Install the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to
Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement
.
Important: Ensure that the inside lip of the door opening weather-strip is properly seated to close out the headliner, sail panel, and pillar garnish moldings.
- Install the door opening weatherstrips in the door openings. Refer to
Rear Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement
.
- Install the overhead console. Refer to
Roof Console Replacement
.
- Connect the rear view mirror electrical connectors.
- Install the passenger front bucket seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Without Sunroof

- Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to

- Remove the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to

- Remove the rear quarter upper garnish molding. Refer to

- Remove the sunshades. Refer to

- Remove the overhead console. Refer to

- Remove the assist handles. Refer to

- Disconnect the headliner electrical connectors.

Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will
damage the headliner.
- Carefully pull the headliner down and cut the adhesive beads retaining the headliner to the cardboard insulator.
- With the aid of an assistant, remove the headliner through the rear passenger door opening.
Installation Procedure

- With the aid of an assistant, load the headliner into the vehicle through the rear passenger door opening.
- With the aid of an assistant, raise the headliner into position.

- Install the sunshades. Refer to

- Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to

- Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to

- Connect the headliner wiring harness connectors.
