Inspection of windshield wiper blades returned to the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) shows that these parts are being replaced for customer concerns such as streaking, blade not clearing windshield, torn inserts, etc.
Customer concerns such as those stated above could be effectively corrected by replacement of the wiper insert(s) (instead of the entire blade) at a much lower cost.
Wiper blades should NOT be replaced under warranty unless there is a defect in the material or workmanship of the blade. Also, damage to the blade is not covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
