Action

DEFINITION: Engine continues to run after key is turned OFF, but runs very rough. If engine runs smooth, inspect the ignition switch and adjustment.

Preliminary Inspections

•	Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information.

•	Search for bulletins.

•	Verify that the powertrain control module (PCM) grounds are clean, tight, and in the proper locations. Refer to Power and Grounding Component Views in Wiring Systems.

Fuel System

Test the fuel injectors using the following tests:

•	Refer to Fuel Injector Solenoid Coil Test .

•	Refer to Fuel Injector Balance Test with Tech 2 .

Additional Inspections

Test for short between B+ and any of the ignition feed circuits.
